Storage Field Day 3 - Day 3
Last day with final presentations at Storage Field Day 3 was by a well known storage company NetApp. NetApp provides a preview of the new, purpose-built FlashRay product range. This provides comprehensive storage efficiency with benefits of all-flash arrays. The new products are an extension of the versatile flash portfolio of NetApp that the benefits of flash for the entire computer, network and storage infrastructure maximizes. Companies have the flexibility to choose unique workloads to combine with the best solution.
The EF540, built on the proven SANtricity operating system, the first flash array in the industry that combines extreme performance with high availability, reliability, manageability according to NetApp. In the end it was more a commercial talk which was very unfortunate. I expected more!
Introducing NetApp FlashRay
NetApp EF540 Flash Array Introduction
How I describe my first Tech Field Day? It was interesting gaining a lot of information about new technology this way. It was great meeting a lot of 'new' people. At least face to face. Had great conversations and a lot of joy. But, it was hectic too. Nevertheless there was not much time for rest, combined with a three days jetlag I must say I managed well.
Most of the SFD3 participants flew back home that afternoon. We had to stay till Sunday, which I didn't mind. That gave us (European) plenty of time to discover a little bit of Colorado. So I rented a car. After lunch, slowly said goodbye to everyone.
I would like to thank Stephen Foskett and Claire Chaplais for hosting this event and taking care of us.
...at least I was a very serious listener
