How to install Install Microsoft Hyper-V on VMware Fusion 4? It's a very pretty straight full way.
Make sure you download the ISO file containing Microsoft Hyper-V Server here.
Create a Virtual machine in Fusion explained in VMware KB Article: 1013810.
Startup the virtual machine which is connected to the iso. Select your language.
Select your regional and keyboard settings. Click Next.
Click Install Now. You are ready to go!
Read through the End User License Agreement (EULA) or skip this and select the I accept the license terms option before clicking Next.
Select the Custom (advanced) option for installation (no picture), Select the disk and click Next
Sit back and wait until it finishes.
Change your Administrator password by clicking OK
After Logon the Hyper-V server you end up with a Hyper-V Configuration Tool (hvconfig.cmd) which automatically launches. It should be clear that with these configuration options you can make changes!
Change workgroup settings or domain membership settings or Change the computer name require a reboot. Now you are ready.
Hyper-V Server Remote Management
There are a few ways to remotely manage Microsoft Hyper-V Server:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (a full installation) with the Hyper-V Manager
- Microsoft Windows 7 with the Hyper-V Manager
- Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008
For this example I use another Microsoft 2008 R2 Server with the Hyper-V Manager feature enabled. Open > Server Manager > Features > Add Feature > And follow the picture below to enable the Hyper-V Tools. Click Next
Installation in Progress. Take again a moment for yourself. So, sit back and wait until it finishes.
The only thing left is to connect to your Hyper-V server.
